Bronx Blues capable of stunning Revolution
MLS
Kick-off 10pm Sunday
New England are a formidable force on home soil but their hopes of reaching the MLS Cup playoffs are over and Tom Soehn could struggle to motivate his players for the visit of high-flying New York City.
Revolution's playoff hopes were dashed by their latest goalless draw at home to Atlanta and with their campaign effectively over, their dominance in Massachusetts could soon come to an end.
New York City, who have their sights set on achieving a top-two finish in the Eastern Conference, have the quality to inflict just a third home league defeat of the season on the Revolution.
Patrick Vieira's troops are unbeaten in five road games and the lively England Under-21 international Jack Harrison and ruthless veteran David Villa should cause the hosts plenty of problems.
Villa has notched 20 league goals in 29 appearances this term, including in the 2-1 home win in over New England in August, and any odds-against prices for him to score at any time are likely to be snapped up.
Vieira's men tend to deliver when it matters most. The visitors have lost just three of their last 19 league matches and those defeats came against sides in the top six of their conference, whereas New England are languishing in eighth.
No side in the Eastern Conference have conceded more than the wavering Revolution. They have shipped a lofty 17 times in their last five games and the Bronx Blues should relish facing such generous opponents.
