If England’s performance at Euro 2016 was the most uninspired then Austria ran Roy Hodgson’s side a close second.

Big things were expected of the Austrians after they qualified by dropping just two points in a group that included Russia and Sweden but the whole thing fell flat as they collected a solitary point from their three group matches.

Nobody will be getting carried away this time – Marcel Koller’s side are third favourites behind Serbia and Wales to win Group D – but they should at least get their qualification campaign off to a winning start by seeing off Georgia this afternoon.
