Angers should keep the scoreline respectable

Angers v PSG
TV Monde
8pm Saturday

There is no British or Irish television coverage of the Stade de France showdown but most bookmakers will have the match on their live streaming service and Angers could test Paris St-Germain.

Angers get a two-goal start on the Asian handicap meaning PSG will need to win by at least three goals before those on the outsiders have lost money and that could prove beyond Unai Emery's stars.

PSG won both league encounters 2-0 (the same here would see stakes returned) but on each occasion they were flattered.

In last month's 2-0 win in Angers PSG scored with both their shots on target and even the home game finished with shots on target stats of just 4-3 in favour of the overwhelming favourites. Three of the four Paris goals came from set-pieces so it's not as if Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria and the rest were running riot from open play.

Angers, who competed well and lost by only one goal in their two matches against champions Monaco, are aiming for the first major trophy in their history and won't lack for effort and commitment even if they face long spells without possession.

Stephane Moulin's side are tough to penetrate and conceded just 129 shots on their goal in Ligue 1 this season which was third-best in the division behind PSG (91) and Monaco (118).

No French Cup final has been won by more than two goals since Auxerre beat Montpellier 3-0 in 1994 and during that time second, third and fourth division sides have gone the distance. PSG should win their third straight French Cup but they beat second-tier Auxerre only 1-0 in the 2015 final and Marseille 4-2 last season.

Recommendation
Angers +2 on Asian handicap
