Ambitious Robins should get season off to a flyer

The redevelopment at Ashton Gate is complete and Bristol City can continue the feelgood factor at their 27,000 stadium by beating Wigan on the opening weekend of the new Sky Bet Football League campaign.
City finished only 18th in the Sky Bet Championship last season but the ambition off the pitch is clear and they should be looking to get off to a flyer against newly-promoted opposition.
Lee Johnson has been backed in the transfer market, bringing in Lee Tomlin and Callum O’Dowda among others on permanent contracts, while returning full-back Adam Matthews and Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham arrive on loan deals.
