Konyaspor are stuck in a rut and their Super Lig struggles look set to continue at an Alanyaspor side who still hold realistic ambitions of a top-four finish.

Konyaspor finished eighth last season, just three points outside the Europa League qualification places, but with no wins in their last nine games they are fearing relegation this time around.

After seven games Konyaspor had racked up 12 points. Now, nine outings later, they have just 15 points and they are the Turkish league’s joint-lowest scorers with 14 goals.

Five of those have been netted by attacking midfielder Farouk Miya but even he has gone six games without a goal and it is evident that Konyaspor are a team short on belief at both ends of the field.

The same cannot be said of Alanyaspor, who were 5-1 winners at Denizlispor last time out, just six days after a 7-1 hammering of second-tier side Adanaspor in the cup.

Erol Bulut’s boys are flying high in sixth, within eight points of pacesetters Sivasspor, and they have been extremely reliable on home soil.

Alanyaspor have lost only one of their opening eight home league games, claiming the scalp of Turkish giants Fenerbahce and holding Sivasspor and second-placed Istanbul Basaksehir.

Armed with home advantage again, they ought to have too much firepower for the confidence-shattered visitors.
