The absence of Cristhian Stuani is a major blow for Girona and means Deportivo La Coruna should be backed to land maximum points in a La Liga clash at the Riazor.

Girona started their debut La Liga season in excellent fashion, outplaying Atletico Madrid in a 2-2 draw, and that was followed by a 1-0 home success against Malaga which suggested the sister club of Manchester City would be fine in the Spanish top flight.

However, the Catalans have found it much tougher since, collecting just two points from their last six matches, although both of those came on the road at Leganes and Celta Vigo.

Only seven goals have been scored by Girona and four of those have come via former Middlesbrough man Stuani, who is suspended for this trip.

Before this weekend's La Liga contests only Villarreal's Cedric Bakambu had contributed more goals to one club than Stuani's 57 per cent.

Depor, who have beaten Alaves and Getafe in their last two home matches, are not exactly full of goals themselves but one could be enough and in Lucas Perez and Florin Andone there is enough firepower to get the Riazor rocking.
