Leyton Orient v Barrow

Leyton Orient are falling below expectations in League Two but they have improved since appointing Richie Wellens as manager this month and can extend their unbeaten sequence to seven by beating fourth-bottom Barrow.

Wellens inherited an Orient side perched four points above the drop zone and desperately short of confidence after no win in 14.

However, he spoke confidently about the players he took on and seems to have quickly restored their self-belief.

In just his second game in charge Wellens steered the Londoners to a well-deserved 1-1 draw at leaders Forest Green.

Comfortable wins at home to Rochdale and away to Harrogate followed, and Orient approach the weekend 12 points clear of the bottom two.

Relegation is a more realistic possibility for Barrow, who have brought in experienced manager Phil Brown to replace Mark Cooper.

Brown's aim is to extend his team's six-point gap to the drop zone, but any improvement in results may have to take place after the Bluebirds' tricky clash in the capital.

Oldham v Mansfield

Oldham's hopes of staying up have been damaged by a five-game losing sequence in League Two and their problems could mount after a clash with promotion-chasing Mansfield, who look a solid bet to prevail at Boundary Park.

Injuries and suspensions have been piling up for the Latics, who lost 3-1 at home to Sutton United on Tuesday.

John Sheridan's side have key defender Carl Piergianni back in contention after a two-game ban, but they are still likely to struggle against the Stags, who have lost just two of their last 17 league fixtures.

Shrewsbury v Lincoln

Shrewsbury have excelled in recent games – winning 5-0 at home to Morecambe and 3-0 at Rotherham – but their hot-streak could end when they take on Lincoln at Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Lincoln's tally of six away victories is the highest among League One's bottom- half teams and it could increase against the Shrews, who have won just one of their last six home fixtures.

Experienced Crawley striker Kwesi Appiah has notched in his last two League Two games, taking his tally to ten, and he looks a prime candidate to break the deadlock at home to struggling Rochdale.
