Expect Grillo to be hot in Mexican test
Argentinian can build on a solid opening effort
Sky Sports Golf, 6pm Friday
Rickie Fowler went off at a single-figure price for this week's OHL Classic is Mexico and his backers will have been delighted to see him card an opening 65.
However, he looks a flimsy price at evens to push on and win his second-round threeball on Friday (5pm GMT).
The American has not been in action since he was part of the team who cruised to success in the Presidents Cup at the beginning of last month, but there have been several instances in the last six months when he has failed to card a decent second round.
Just three of his last 21 second efforts have been in the 60s and while he is the best player in the field, his price for Friday is nothing to get excited about.
Fowler is playing alongside Argentinian Emiliano Grillo and Chesson Hadley, but while Hadley has shown some blistering form since the new season started after the FedEx playoffs, the South American is the one who makes most appeal.
Hadley missed the opportunity to make the playoff at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open last week when he bogeyed the final hole.
While he has finished in the top four in each of his last three tournaments, Thursday's level par 71, which included four bogeys, suggested that the man from North Carolina could be running out of steam.
Grillo's form figures for the new campaign are not spectacular - 28-54-40 - but he finished tenth at Mayakoba last year and his putter, which has been letting him down of late, behaved itself in his opening 69.
He is an excellent tee-to-green player and it would not be a surprise if he built on his solid start.
