Getafe left it late to beat Valladolid at home in the first leg of their Copa del Rey tie but they deserved the win and can prove that in the return contest.

Angel's injury-time winner has put Getafe in the driving seat and being able to play on the break should suit the visitors, who had double the shots on target last week (4-2) and finished with ten attempts overall to Valladolid's tally of three.

Possession was 64-36 in Getafe's favour too and the side from the outskirts of Madrid are having a wonderful season, sixth in La Liga and fighting for an unlikely European qualification in a congested table.

Valladolid are in the bottom half but only four points inferior to Getafe after their 1-1 draw at Valencia on Saturday with Ruben Alcaraz on target with a quite brilliant free kick.

However, it was their only attempt on goal and expected goal ratings have them as relegation candidates in La Liga.

Valladolid have won only two of their last 11 in all competitions and scored only two goals in their last four outings.
