Ospreys have lost some big names and have a long injury list for the start of their Pro14 campaign, and while fans are hoping for an improved showing this season they look set to face a tough opening battle against Edinburgh.

Wales half-back pairing Rhys Webb and Dan Biggar have moved on, but new signings George North, Tom Botha, Aled Davies and Scott Williams all make their debuts at the Liberty Stadium, and there is strength in the pack with Brad Davies and Alun-Wyn Jones paired in the second row plus fellow internationals Dan Lydiate and Justin Tipuric in the back row.

Edinburgh started the last campaign with a victory in Wales, overcoming Cardiff 20-10 to give coach Richard Cockerill a winning start. The Scottish outfit reached the quarter-finals, showing themselves to be tough opponents, and Cockerill has named an experienced side, urging them to put down another early marker.

It should be intense and physical, and taking the visitors with a six-point start looks the best approach.

Champions Leinster go to Cardiff with few of their star names in the line-up and face a Blues side under a new coach. Leinster are three-point favourites and with so many unknowns it's hard to take a view.

Recommendation
Edinburgh +6
1pt 10-11 general
