Doncaster and Plymouth can keep it tight

Solid defences the key for top two

The top two clubs in Sky Bet League Two meet at the Keepmoat Stadium and whatever the result Doncaster and Plymouth should be confident of winning automatic promotion.

Plymouth lost their first two games of the season, while Donny took just a point from theirs, but the pair swiftly found their stride and have been models of consistency since.

Darren Ferguson's Doncaster are the hot favourites to win the division, having scored 17 more goals than their nearest pursuers.

They are unbeaten at home, winning 13 and drawing six, and it is odds-on that their superior attacking quality proves decisive against the Pilgrims.

However, the visitors are a dogged side who have won 11 of their 18 away games in the league this term and a low-scoring contest can be expected, especially as Donny have conceded only 17 goals in 19 home games.

Seven of Plymouth's last eight matches have featured under 2.5 goals and that could be a smart bet again given the context of the fixture.

This is Plymouth's 12th game since February 4, a gruelling run, and they may lack the energy to force a composed and confident Doncaster side into mistakes.

Donny, in turn, won't want to give the chasing pack any encouragement so an expansive encounter looks unlikely.

Team news
Centre-back Luke McCullough could return after a knee injury and Aaron Taylor-Sinclair is also back in the squad. However, Darren Ferguson could stick with the same 11 who started the win over Leyton Orient.

The Pilgrims' starting line-up may be unchanged although Ryan Taylor and Gary Sawyer are pushing for promotion from the bench and Nauris Bulvitis and Craig Tanner could be back in the squad.
