Krzyzstof Ratajski v Callan Rydz

Krzysztof Ratajski has repeated last year's run to the World Matchplay quarter-finals and can now book a semi-final berth by showing he's got too much in the tank for Callan Rydz.

The Pole has looked sensational so far, averaging over 100 in seeing off Brendan Dolan and Luke Humphries. He is also averaging almost 50 per cent on his checkouts, which would be too hot for most opponents.

Debutant Rydz missed just three doubles against Rob Cross in round two, an astonishing performance but a display of freakish accuracy which is going to be hard to get anywhere near over the longer best-of-31 format. And he averaged just 92 against Cross, despite those incredible checkout stats. That's a concern.

Back Ratajski on the handicap to win 16-12 or better.

Gerwyn Price v Dimitri van den Bergh

Jonny Clayton, the man of 2021, had no answers to a Gerwyn Price masterclass, and it would be no surprise to see Dimitri van den Bergh wilt under another Welsh onslaught.

Gezzy's stage persona is such that he's almost a leg up before matches have started and he's playing like a man who was crowned world champ in January.

Van den Bergh enjoyed his showdown with Dave Chisnall, an 11-8 win when he set a new second-round high for number of 180s. But he won't like playing Price, who is rightly the favourite.
