Tournament preview

The inaugural Nordic Darts Masters starts on Friday and Peter Wright looks good each-way value to claim the Copenhagen crown.

As always with World Series of Darts events, eight top PDC players compete against the same number of regional representatives in the first round.

The draw is key in these events and it's understandable that Gerwyn Price, who faces Daniel Larrson in round one and then the winner of Fallon Sherrock v Niels Heinsoe in the second, heads the market.

However, in the other half of the draw Peter Wright looks worthy of each-way support at 7-2. Snakebite is unlikely to have any trouble in his opener against Marko Kantele and a potential quarter-final against Jonny Clayton doesn't look as tricky as the market anticipates.

The Ferret, Michael van Gerwen and Nathan Aspinall are Wright's rivals in the bottom-half of the draw and they have all been in pretty shaky from. In contrast, Snakebite is on a high after lifting the World Cup with Scotland last week and he looks to boast strong hopes of at least making the final.

It's well known that the Scot likes to tinker with his darts, but over the past two years Wright has probably become the most consistent performer on tour.

The Nordic and Baltic charge is lead by Madars Razma, who faces Aspinall in the opening round, while Darius Labanauskas takes on Van Gerwen. As the match betting shows, that duo have a realistic chance of upsetting their big-hitting opponents - in a short-format race to six legs first-round contest - and that could clear the path for Snakebite to strike.
