Championship Group preview

We’re down to the final four of the PDC Home Tour as the online extravaganza reaches it's climax with the Championship Group.

Gary Anderson, Nathan Aspinall, Jonny Clayton and Jelle Klaasen are the quartet who have made it through a grueling 43 nights of action.

Anderson was unbeaten in the Play-Offs Championship Group beating Mike De Decker, Dave Chisnall and Jelle Klaasen. Averages of 92.8, 93.4 and 98.1 in those three contests was quality throwing from the Flying Scotsman.

Prior to that Anderson was undefeated at the last-32 stage coming through a group containing Nick Kenny, Luke Humphries and Jamie Lewis. Humphries had been one of the home stars, prior to his clash with the Scotsman, but Anderson blew him away 6-1 averaging an incredible 110.1 over the seven legs.

If Anderson is able to reproduce that sort of form it's very difficult to see either Klaasen or Clayton living with the Scotsman.

Nathan Aspinall rates the biggest threat to Anderson and a 106.7 average in a 6-5 win over Jonny Clayton in the previous round was a superb effort. That was followed by a 104.8 in a 6-5 defeat to Rob Cross and there's no doubt the Asp could prove a handful on that showing.

However, the pressure is likely to be applied for the first time in this event tonight and that could benefit Anderson, who probably just has the edge when it comes to consistency.

The layers rate the two-time William Hill World Champion a 13-8 chance to add the PDC Home Tour to his list of honors and that looks a price worth taking.
