Glen Durrant is enjoying the week of his life in Blackpool and the Matchplay debutant might not have finished yet.

The reigning BDO world champ saw off James Wade on Thursday night to reach the semi-finals and he can get the better of Michael Smith.

And that gives him the edge over Smith. Bully Boy can have remarkable mini-sessions chock-full of 11 and 12 darters, come back from a break and look like he’s away with the fairies.

He got away with it against a molten Mervyn King but Durrant will be less forgiving.

Maximums look to be on the high side at 16.5. Both men are renowned big-hitters but it’s going to take both to perform to hit that mark and the intense heat of the Winter Gardens means that can’t be guaranteed.
