Night 16 preview
It's the final night of Premier League regular season action and it sets up a straight playoff shootout been Dimitri van den Bergh and Jonny Clayton.
Michael van Gerwen, Nathan Aspinall and Jose de Sousa have three of the top-four spots wrapped up and there is no thrower who can surpass Clayton and Van den Bergh in fourth and fifth spots.
The Ferret has the comfort of knowing a draw will be enough to seal his place in tomorrow night's playoffs but that brings its own pressure.
Clayton started the event as the in-form man, but his performance level seems to have dropped at just the wrong time and the Welshman has lost back-to-back matches against Peter Wright and De Sousa.
Van den Bergh kept his hopes alive with a 7-7 draw against James Wade last night and prior to that the Belgium was also bitten by Snakebite.
The DreamMaker must be wondering how he has only taken one point from a pair of matches in which he has averaged 107 and 101.
However, a repeat of those numbers should give him every chance tonight and it's easier to have confidence in last year's Matchplay winner producing under pressure.
Jose de Sousa has settled into Premier League life nicely after a shaky start and has suffered just one defeat in his last seven matches.
That reverse came against Michael van Gerwen last night, but the Special One still averaged 101 in that match and he looks worth backing against Nathan Aspinall.
The Asp is brilliant at winning high-pressure matches, but with both players already booked in tomorrow night, he could find a relaxed Special One too hot to handle.
Wade takes on Gary Anderson, with only pride on the line and Wright against Van Gerwen completes the night.
