The Premier League stars are off to Aberdeen for the reverse of the Night Six fixture card which saw Michael Smith and Gary Anderson progress to the final.
Anderson won that night, beating Smith 6-4, but if it was meant to act as a springboard for bigger and better things then it hasn’t happened. The two of them are now propping up the table and need to get their skates on if they are to harbour any hopes of making the Berlin playoffs.
Jonny Clayton v Gary Anderson
Head-to-head: Anderson leads 9-4
2022 PL meetings: Anderson 6 Clayton 5 (Night Six)
Since triumphing in Nottingham last month, a success sparked by a 6-5 win over Jonny Clayton, Gary Anderson has not won a single Premier League game.
Little wonder not much is expected of him in Aberdeen although there have been enough funny results when least expected to make you think the Welshman is way too short at around 2-5. Anderson has a good record in the Granite City where non-Scots know they've got the crowd as well as a board and an opponent to play.
Peter Wright v Joe Cullen
H2H: Wright leads 22-6
2022 PL meetings: Cullen 4 Wright 6 (N6); Wright 4 Cullen 6 (N7)
Chuck a dart at Snakebite to hit more 180s than Joe Cullen in match two at P&J Live.
Wright averages 3.02 on tour compared to Cullen's 3.06 and while Rockstar has a marginal edge in the Premier League, the Scot is surely a bit of value at 13-8.
As for the match itself, Cullen will be confident after reaching the final last week, although he followed up with a first-hurdle fall at the German Darts Grand Prix - a 6-4 loss to Wesley Plaisier when he averaged under 90. The inconsistency is never far away.
James Wade v Michael Smith
H2H: Wade leads 17-6
2022 PL meetings: Smith 6 Wade 1 (N6)
Last week's winner James Wade goes off favourite against Michael Smith, who is proving a hard man to trust these days, even at odds against.
Bully Boy seems to lose confidence as soon as he falls behind and Wade, who has regained his finishing prowess to go with his revived scoring power, looks too strong.
It was a high-class affair when the two men met in Nottingham, Smith winning 6-1, although both players averaged over 102. Smith should have little difficulty averaging over 96.5, especially as both men's checkout percentages (Wade 44, Smith 41) suggest there won't be too many messy legs.
Gerwyn Price v Michael van Gerwen
H2H: Van Gerwen leads 22-7
2022 PL meetings: Price 6 Van Gerwen 5 (N3); Van Gerwen 4 Price 6 (N6)
Michael van Gerwen toes the oche in the unusual position of knowing his previous match ended in a humbling whitewash, thrashed 7-0 by Luke Humphries in the last four of the German Grand Prix on Monday.
He has also suffered the indignity of two defeats at the hands of Gerwyn Price over the course of the campaign, yet it's Gezzy struggling to make the top four while the Green Machine powers away at the top of the table.
Price pulled out of Germany at the weekend with a throat infection but is apparently good to go.
Van Gerwen chucked in three 102-plus averages before losing to Humphries and is playing better now than when he was undone by the Iceman earlier in the competition.
