Glen Durrant v Nathan Aspinall

Head-to-head: Durrant leads 2-0

Glen Durrant is enjoying an unbeaten start to his rookie Premier League campaign but the early-season table-topper could well be deposed at Dublin’s 3Arena.

Duzza made it five points out of six by beating Gary Anderson 7-4 last Thursday in Cardiff and now he bumps into in-form Nathan Aspinall, another first-timer having a dream debut, and it’s The Asp who gets the nod.

Given the number of draws there have been – five in 15 matches – it may pay to have the draw-no-bet to fall back on, but Aspinall has the bit between his teeth.

Already a Pro Tour winner this year, Aspinall made it two wins in three by downing Michael van Gerwen 7-5 in a belter of a contest last week and looks so at home on the big stage.

Rob Cross v Gary Anderson

H2H: Anderson leads 8-1

Rob Cross and Gary Anderson will be looking to bounce back after sustaining their first defeats of the campaign in Cardiff, and bookmakers prefer the Scot's chances.

Anderson's head-to-head record speaks for itself and Voltage, as is well chronicled and he acknowledges, is going through a lifestyle transition which has unquestionably affected his game from time to time.

But the 2020 Anderson is far less trustworthy than the 2016 model and this could be a tight affair.

Daryl Gurney v Michael Smith

H2H: Smith leads 8-5

Daryl Gurney is one of two players yet to register a win and he can have no complaints.

Missed doubles are costing him big time – he has hit only 12 of 40 attempts – while an absence of maximums may also be a worry.

That’s the story of Gurney’s season and it points to a value bet to be had.

On the Pro Tour this year Superchin is averaging a 180 every 4.95 legs, Smith one every 2.86. The gulf is just as pronounced in TV events with Gurney averaging a max every five legs, Smith one every 3.46.

Gurney showed glimpses of form in a draw against Gerwyn Price last week but still lost the 180s match bet and Smith looks over-priced at 20-21 in that market.

Willie O’Connor v Michael van Gerwen

H2H: Van Gerwen leads 10-3

Willie O’Connor is week four’s invited guest player with the dubious honour of taking on Michael van Gerwen.

The Irishman will at least have the crowd on his side and The Magpie hit some welcome form at the weekend, beating among others Scott Waites, Joe Cullen and Brendan Dolan to reach a floor quarter-final.

Van Gerwen, however, reached a second final of the year on Sunday and is playing well enough to take down most opponents, although he did find Nathan Aspinall too hot to handle last week.

O’Connor, with no disrespect, is no Aspinall and Van Gerwen should win this comfortably enough.

Gerwyn Price v Peter Wright

H2H: Wright leads 15-5

And so to the game of the night between the players of the year.

Price, winner of Players Championship 6 on Sunday, against Wright, winner of Players Championship 5 just 24 hours earlier, a triumph sealed with victory over the Welshman in an almost flawless final.

Snakebite produced the highest-ever PDC tournament average on Saturday with a mind-boggling 106.7 over the course of the day. Each of them averaged over 109 in the final.

Price is unbeaten in the Premier League with three draws and they drew on this stage 6-6 two years ago. It’s hard to imagine this won’t go the distance.
