Justin Hood vs Ryan Meikle

Justin Hood has produced two career-best performances to reach round three at Alexandra Palace and the Glastonbury star will hope to replicate his victories over Nick Kenny and Danny Noppert against Ryan Meikle on Monday.

Happy Feet has recorded averages of 99.59 and 103.01 in the first two rounds and his performance when beating sixth seed Noppert 3-2 was sublime.

The quandary for punters is that Hood's efforts at the Palace this year have been far superior to anything he has shown on the Pro Tour. Therefore backing the 32-year-old at odds of 1-3 against Meikle comes with more risk than reward and it may closer contest than the market anticipates in any case.

Meikle definitely has the game to trouble Hood if he is on song and the Barber's power scoring can help the round-three rivals eclipse a maximums line of 10.5 in the opening contest of Day 16.

Ricky Evans vs Charlie Manby

'Rapid' Ricky Evans is a more established performer than his third-round opponent Charlie Manby, but Champagne is only getting better and there has been little to separate the pair in terms of averages at this year's World Championship.

Their round-three showdown is tricky to call and better punting opportunities lie elsewhere.

Nathan Aspinall vs Kevin Doets

At 5-2, Kevin Doets could be the standout bet on Monday's card.

The Dutchman has produced a string of strong performances on the Pro Tour this term and a seasonal three-dart average of 91.88 is highly credible.

Hawkeye has impressed in beating Matthew Dennant and David Munyua over the first fortnight in London, and while a clash with seasoned Majors performer Nathan Aspinall will demand more, Doets looks to have been dismissed too easily by the layers.

Of course, it's not as simple as just comparing averages, but the stats suggest there hasn't been much between Doets and Aspinall across the first two rounds.

The Asp dropped a set to qualifier Lourence Ilagan in round one and the two-time semi-finalist could be given a real run for his money by Doets.

Josh Rock v Callan Rydz

Seeded players have been falling by the wayside at Ally Pally this year and 11th seed Josh Rock could be the latest to make an abrupt exit.

Callan Rydz was emotional after his nail-biting win over Daryl Gurney in round two as he spoke about his ill grandad, who he has previously hailed as his 'inspiration'.

The Geordie held his nerve in difficult circumstances to beat Superchin 3-2 with a 96.59 average, which was a continuation of some high numbers on the Ally Pally stage for Rydz, who produced averages of 107.06, 105.31 and 103.88 in last year's World Championship.

Riot has an extremely high celling and makes plenty of appeal to beat Rock at 5-2.

Rock averaged just 90.18 and dropped a set to Gemma Hayter in round one, and while he was better against Joe Comito last time, he was again not at his peak.

The Northern Irishman is yet to be tested on the Alexandra Palace stage and there could be more to come. But those backing him to rule the world would have liked to see a bit more from the Antrim ace and Rydz definitely has the game to land a knockout blow on Rocky.
