Nordic Masters preview
Part two of the World Series takes the PDC's select eight from Bahrain to Copenhagen for the two-day Nordic Masters.
New world champion Michael Smith dotted up in the desert but in a tournament minus Michael van Gerwen, who was on holiday.
Mighty Mike is back to toe the oche in Denmark, however, and does so as the favourite.
For the uninitiated, eight PDC aces take on eight Nordic representatives in round one of the 16-man event.
Last weekend all of the Asian hopefuls who tackled the big guns fell at the first but there's every possibility of an upset or two this week against steelier and more seasoned opponents.
For example, Madars Razma, king of the treble-19, should fancy his chances against Dimitri van den Bergh while Daniel Larsson is good enough to beat Jonny Clayton if the Ferret has an off-day.
And while Bully Boy can clearly do no wrong, Darius 'Lucky D' Labanauskas is a former world quarter-finalist. He is proven and, even if he is a tad one-paced, looks overpriced at 7-1 in such a short format.
We gave Rob Cross the nod in Bahrain at 9-1 and he saw off Nitin Kumar and Peter Wright before succumbing to Gerwyn Price in the semis.
Voltage was in sparkling form at the back end of 2022 and there's no obvious reason to believe that if he was worth a punt a week ago he shouldn't be supported once more, especially now he's lurking at 10-1.
Cross is in the opposite half of the draw to Smith and Van Gerwen and appeals each-way.
