Free darts tips, best bets and analysis for Friday's PDC Home Tour Group Eight

What is the PDC Home Tour?

The PDC announced a new event to keep sport rolling during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Home Tour event starts on Friday April 17 and will be streamed on bookmaker websites and features a host of big names.

Each session starts at 7.30 and will see four stars do battle in nightly round-robin groups which are played over the best-of-nine legs. The 32 group winners will progress through to the next phase.

Welsh number two Jonny Clayton is an established top-16 player in the PDC these days but he may be best avoided at short prices to win Group Eight.

Clayton made the semi-finals of March's UK Open but has been largely indifferent this year and could be vulnerable in a group containing a couple of competent floor players.

The relaxed vibe should suit the likes of Adam Hunt and Richard North, who have beaten some elite PDC players in Players' Championship events this year.

Hunt is seen as the most viable alternative to Clayton for group honours but it is a surprise to see North chalked up behind Dave Pallett in the group betting with the session starting at 7.30pm.

Shropshire slinger Pallett has been in woeful form this year while North has whitewashed Group Two winner Luke Woodhouse and recorded victories over Kim Huybrechts and Jeffrey de Zwaan on the floor.

The Lionheart has beaten Pallett in all four of their meetings on tour and looks worth backing to defeat him again.
