What is the PDC Home Tour?

The PDC announced a new event to keep sport rolling during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Home Tour event starts on Friday April 17 and will be streamed on bookmaker websites and features a host of big names.

Each session starts at 7.30 and will see four stars do battle in nightly round-robin groups which are played over the best-of-nine legs. The 32 group winners will progress through to the next phase.

There have been several high-profile casualties after nine nights of the PDC Home Tour but Nathan Aspinall should avoid the same fate as fellow big guns Peter Wright, Gerwyn Price and James Wade by winning Group Ten.

The Asp, a two-time PDC World Championship semi-finalist and winner of the 2019 UK Open, lines up alongside Ryan Joyce, Simon Stevenson and Steve Brown and should expect to progress as a dominant winner.

Aspinall won a PDPA Players Championship event in Barnsley last month, hammering Michael van Gerwen 6-1 along the way, and has a class edge in this company.

Joyce, a quarter-finalist at the 2019 World Championship, is likely to provide Aspinall with his greatest test but the world number six is easily capable of seeing him off.

Relentless Ryan should have enough to defeat Stevenson and Brown to finish second.

Stevenson has done little outside of reaching the quarter-finals of the 2019 UK Open while Brown has struggled to make an impact since regaining his tour card in January.
