What is the PDC Home Tour?

The PDC announced a new event to keep sport rolling during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Home Tour event starts on Friday April 17 and will be streamed on bookmaker websites and features a host of big names.

Each session starts at 7.30 and will see four stars do battle in nightly round-robin groups which are played over the best-of-nine legs. The 32 group winners will progress through to the next phase.

There should be titanic tungsten tussles galore if some of the players' nicknames are anything to go by.

Group 15 houses the Demolition Man, The Hammer and Bamm Bamm with a super stylish Mod thrown in for good measure.

Demolition Man Darren Webster is the bookies' favourite to pummel his rivals into submission but the world number 27 hasn't shown the same destructive game he possessed in 2018 when making three major quarter-finals.

Bradley Brooks looks most at risk of being overpowered having struggled since winning back his tour card in January and it remains to be seen if 2012 World Championship runner-up Andy 'Hammer' Hamilton still has what it takes to be to compete with the oche's elite after two years in the wilderness.

Scott Baker is the odd one out when it comes to nicknames but he is a slick operator when in the groove and, after a tough opening to 2020, began to hit some form last month.

The Mod is usually highly competitive and he is a tempting price at 11-4 to take top billing.

He should certainly be backed to beat Brooks given the struggles of Bamm Bamm in Players' Championship floor events this year.
