What is the PDC Home Tour?

The PDC announced a new event to keep sport rolling during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Home Tour event starts on Friday April 17 and will be streamed on bookmaker websites and features a host of big names.

Each session starts at 7.30 and will see four stars do battle in nightly round-robin groups which are played over the best-of-nine legs. The 32 group winners will progress through to the next phase.

'Hollywood' Chis Dobey is the headline act on night 14 of the PDC Home Tour with the boy from Bedlington hot favourite to be the group's leading man.

World number 20 Dobey is becoming a more familiar name towards the business end of major tournaments and reached the fourth round of the William Hill World Championship for a second year in succession in December.

Dobey was narrowly beaten by Glen Durrant in an Ally Pally cracker but that defeat hasn't stopped him continuing his progression in 2020.

The 29-year-old reached the last 16 of the Ladbrokes UK Open in March before his run was ended by eventual semi-finalist Jonny Clayton, who hit a nine-dart finish in another close affair.

Dobey is by far the most accomplished of Thursday's four competitors and even at a shade of odds-on, Hollywood looks a good value bet to be a hit and top the group.

Bookmakers expect Hong Kong slinger Kai Fan Leung to give Dobey the most to think about and he certainly looks in better shape to challenge than Dutchman Ron Meulenkamp, who has endured a slow start to the 2020 season.

Young Irishman Ciaran Teehan makes up the quartet.
