Day four preview

Dave Parletti needs a win against William O'Connor, Gary Anderson to beat Darren Webster, and those matches to turn around an eight-leg difference with the Demolition Man if he is to qualify for the knockout stages of the BoyleSports Grand Slam.

While that set of results is unlikely to happen, the BDO man looks good value to uphold his part of the bargain.

Parletti was beaten 5-1 in his opening Group D contest against Anderson but it was reasonable to expect the Architect to improve from that initial Wolverhampton experience.

That was just about borne out, in terms of scoreline, in the London arrowsmith's second-round match where he went down 5-2 to Webster.

However, there was a lot to like about Parletti's performance in that match, not least his checkouts of 70 and 110.

O'Connor performed well in a 5-3 defeat to Anderson but that was almost a free hit and there is a lot more pressure on the Irishman, who is expected to win against Parletti.

Jim Williams has far more realistic hopes of qualification, with a win over Adrian Lewis seeing him through, and the Quiff can make it a double for the BDO.

Apart from a slight stutter hitting the winning double, Williams demolished Ross Smith 5-1 with a 92.35 average in his last group contest.

Prior to that, Michael van Gerwen was too good for Williams but the Welshman managed to take two legs off MVG and looks to have grown in confidence since that opening Grand Slam clash.

Lewis looked in decent shape against the Green Machine but there's no certainty of a repeat performance given Jackpot's erratic form and at 11-8 Williams looks a wise wager.
