Betfred World Matchplay darts: quarter-final predictions, best bets & TV channel

Arrers fans have been treated to a series of extra-time thrillers over the first few days of the Betfred World Matchplay, though Rob Cross and Peter Wright have definitely not entered the spirit of things.

The numbers two and six seeds respectively have raced into the quarter-finals at Blackpool and may not be overly stretched forging a path into the last four as well.

Cross has dropped only eight legs despatching Chris Dobey and Krzysztof Ratajski and is averaging a shade over 99. Wright is averaging 102.5 and has given up a total of just seven legs against Vincent van der Voort and Simon Whitlock.

Voltage next shackles Stephen Bunting while Snakebite takes on Daryl Gurney and the Cross-Wright double, which pays 77-100, looks the way to go.

Cross, the easy winner of both previous showdowns with Bunting, looks in a different class to The Bullet. Bunting is delighted to have got this far but he has been all but handed his wins by Gerwyn Price and Ian White.

As for Wright, he can do no wrong right now. He beat Superchin 8-6 on his way to the semis of the US Masters at the start of the month and has subsequently gone on to win three tournaments in a row.
