Gerrans has the chance to shine on undulating course

Marcel Kittel took his first stage win of this year’s Tour yesterday, in what must have been one of the closest finishes in Tour de France history.
The German sprinter started the Tour as the favourite for the sprint stages but after a couple of below-par efforts was available at 10-1 yesterday morning. The bookies won’t be taking such chances again.
Kittel’s narrow victory over Bryan Coquard also propelled him up to third in the points standings – just ten points shy of Peter Sagan, whose podium finish moved him back to the head of those standings.
