Second Test preview

South Africa claimed their first away Test win since 2017 in fine style last week, beating the West Indies by an innings and 63 runs in Gros Islet, and they are 8-11 to win the second Test at the same venue.

Ruthless fast bowling, excellent slip catching and poor shot selection from the Windies helped the Proteas bowl out their hosts for 97 and 162, while Quinton de Kock cracked an unbeaten 141 out of 322 when they batted.

Home quicks Kemar Roach, Jason Holder and youngster Jayden Seales also impressed but the only West Indian batsman to show much resistance was Roston Chase.

The number four dug in for 62 off 156 balls in the second innings and he looks too big at 7-1 to top-score at a venue where he made a century against an England attack of James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Mark Wood and Ben Stokes in February 2019.
