Preview

England levelled up their five-match Twenty20 series in the West Indies at 1-1 thanks to an astonishing one-run win in Barbados on Sunday and they are favourites for the third game at the same venue on Wednesday.

After being bowled out for just 103 in the series opener, England racked up 171-8 in the second T20 before spinners Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali helped reduce the Windies to 98-8 in the 16th over.

The hosts almost pulled off a remarkable win thanks to the hitting of ninth-wicket pair Romario Shepherd and Akeal Hosein, who smashed 28 runs off the final over of the innings, bowled by England's Saqib Mahmood.

England's T20 World Cup campaign was ended by a similar onslaught from New Zealand and skipper Eoin Morgan accepted that there are issues with his side's death bowling.

All-rounder Moeen is in fine form, however, and he looks overpriced at 6-1 to be England's top runscorer in the third game in Bridgetown.

The elegant left-hander made a first-ball duck in the opening match but bounced back with 31 off 24 balls on Sunday, having scored 37 and 51 not out in his last two innings at the World Cup in November.

Moeen should retain his place in the top four and is value to shine in the absence of T20 regulars Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Dawid Malan and Ben Stokes.

West Indies fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell is unlikely to contribute much with the bat, having scored just 18 runs in 36 T20 internationals, but he can eclipse a performance line of 20.5 with his efforts in the field.

The left-armer is a sharp operator with the new ball and at the death, claiming 2-30 and 1-23 in the first two matches, and he has also taken three catches, worth ten points each on bet365's performance market.

Cottrell's last T20 outing before this series saw him pick up 3-28 in a high-scoring win over Australia in July 2021 and he dismissed both England openers on his debut in Bridgetown in 2014.
