The Hundred preview

Trent Rockets host Northern Superchargers in Monday's men's and women's double-header in The Hundred.

The Rockets Women lost their opening game against Southern Brave on Saturday, when they failed to take the initiative chasing a modest target of 134.

England's Nat Sciver played some inventive shots in her 29-ball 44 but Katherine Brunt got bogged down, scoring just 22 off 29 deliveries, and the Rockets may well promote Australian batter Heather Graham to number four.

Graham, not to be confused with the 'Boogie Nights' actress of the same name, was left with too much to do by the time she came in against the Brave but she struck four boundaries in a lively knock of 24 and is a big price to top-score.

Trent Rockets Men had no problem getting off to a winning start after Marchant de Lange's devastating bowling set up a nine-wicket win over the Brave.

De Lange took 5-20 from 20 balls to restrict the visitors to 126-8 and, despite losing star batsman Alex Hales to a golden duck, the Rockets cruised home thanks to unbeaten fifties from Dawid Malan and D'Arcy Short.

They face a dangerous Superchargers batting line-up including Ben Stokes and Chris Lynn, who has struck a record 172 sixes in Australia's Big Bash – 75 more than any other player.

Those international stars were eclipsed by Yorkshire youngster Harry Brook, who cracked five maximums in a 31-ball 62 in Saturday's five-run defeat to Welsh Fire, and the Superchargers are a tempting bet to win the sixes battle in Nottingham.
