Match preview

Southern Brave and Birmingham Phoenix men's teams need to kickstart their campaigns in The Hundred and both sides have some star names available for their clash at the Rose Bowl on Friday.

South Africa opener Quinton de Kock smashed 21 off seven balls on his Brave debut against Welsh Fire on Tuesday but that cameo couldn't help them avoid a second defeat in two games.

The Phoenix were bowled out for 87 on a spin-friendly Old Trafford pitch last weekend when backers of Moeen Ali to be top runscorer collected despite him making only 15.

Moeen's England limited-overs teammate Liam Livingstone is a tempting price to top-score in Hampshire. He has batted at number three in the first two matches, coming in before the tenth ball of the innings on both occasions and scoring 19 and 12.

Livingstone had a stunning Twenty20 series against Pakistan earlier this month, smashing 103 off 43 balls in the first match and hitting four more sixes in his next two innings.

Southern Brave women have won two out of two, restricting their opponents to scores of 110-7 in both matches, and they look worthy favourites to win the 3pm fixture against the Phoenix.
