Quinton de Kock should be at heart of Carrara action

South Africa keeper-bat primed for Australia T20

Take South Africa wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock to get 39 or more performance points in their sole T20 with Australia on the Gold Coast.

One point is awarded for each run, ten points are awarded for each catch and 25 points is gained for each stumping.

Thunderstorms are on the radar for the return of cricket to Carrara, where David Gower and John Morris infamously did their Tiger Moth fly-by during England's match against Queensland on the 1992-93 Ashes tour, so the best-value wager looks to reside in a player that should be involved in plenty of action.

De Kock should open the batting for the Proteas and the 47 he scored in last month's first ODI in Perth suggests that he is in decent enough nick to get stuck into the Green and Golds attack.

He has also made five scores in the 40s in eight shortest-format innings against Australia.

De Kock pouched nine catches in the Proteas' 2-1 ODI series success and South Africa seem to be back playing decent white-ball cricket courtesy of their battery of quick bowlers.

However, Australia remain slight favourites to prevail because while they remain in the doldrums, they have triumphed in seven of the teams' last nine shortest-format meetings.

And even with any lateral movement generated by overhead conditions, the pitch should be a road compared to the three tracks Australia encountered in last month's 3-0 T20 series loss to Pakistan in the UAE.
