Classy Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson should make amends for soft dismissal

Second ODI, 11am Friday

Trent Boult's hat-trick propelled New Zealand to a comfortable win in the first ODI as the left-arm paceman dismissed numbers two, three and four in the Pakistan batting line-up.

The hosts in the UAE fixture never recovered from Boult's dramatic early burst but they are 8-11 favourites to level up the three-match series.

There should be no shortage of competitive zest in the remainder of the series after Ross Taylor appeared to question the legality of Mohammad Hafeez's bowling action, provoking a furious response from the Pakistan camp.

Veteran Hafeez's remodelled action was given the green light by the ICC earlier this year and he is free to bowl in the second ODI, along with fellow spinner Shadab Khan who took four wickets in the first game.

Shadab was fortunate to pick up the scalp of Kane Williamson, who will be determined to make amends for a soft dismissal for 27.

The Kiwi skipper looked in superb form in the Twenty20 series, cracking 60 off just 38 balls in the last game, and Coral's standout 3-1 that he top-scores for his side is well worth a bet.

Recommendation
K Williamson top New Zealand runscorer
2pts 3-1 Coral
