Match preview

The Indian Premier League season, suspended in May due to the severity of India's coronavirus outbreak, resumes in Dubai with a heavyweight clash between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.

Rohit Sharma's Mumbai have taken Chennai's mantle as the dominant force in the IPL, winning three of the last four titles and coming out on top in four of their last five meetings with the Super Kings.

The most recent of those came on May 1 when Kieron Pollard's stunning innings of 87 not out off 34 balls dragged the Indians to a victory target of 219 in Delhi.

Opener Quinton de Kock was Mumbai's second-highest runscorer that day, with 38 off 28 deliveries, and the South African played some blistering innings to help Southern Brave win The Hundred in England this summer.

De Kock has been in terrific T20 form this year and he is worth backing to top-score for Mumbai after making 36, 58 not out and 59 not out for the Proteas in Sri Lanka this month.

His main market rival, skipper Sharma, may need time to adjust to a change of format after playing in India's Test series in England.

MS Dhoni's Chennai are missing the injured Faf du Plessis and Sam Curran, who is in quarantine.
