All games start 2pm Monday
This week’s round of County Championship matches should receive more interest than usual as they are all day-night affairs, starting at 2pm each day with play continuing until 9pm.

Some teams may adapt to the unusual timings and the pink ball – which is easier to view in twilight – better than others but the aim is to give players experience of the conditions with a day-night Test between England and West Indies taking place at Edgbaston from August 17.

Hampshire look the pick of the Division One prices as they aim to beat Somerset for the second time this season.

The south-coast county have had a mixed bag of results recently, with their win over Somerset sandwiched between two innings defeats and an innings victory over Warwickshire.

But at least they have shown they know how to get over the line this season, winning three games while Somerset have just two draws and four defeats to show for their six outings.

Both teams are missing players who are with the England Lions squad taking on South Africa in a three-day match – promising spinner Mason Crane for Hampshire and Somerset fast bowler Jamie Overton.

Hampshire have all-rounder Liam Dawson back from England duty while Reece Topley replaces Michael Carberry in their 13-man squad.

Glamorgan have a day-night win under their belts, having won at Kent in an experimental game in 2011.

The Welsh county lost their most recent four-day game at Durham, but they scored wins over Durham and Worcestershire in their two previous matches while winless Derbyshire continue to struggle.

Today’s Women’s World Cup match sees Australia take on the West Indies at Taunton in a repeat of the 2013 final, which the Aussies won by 114 runs. They are 1-5 for another success with the Windies 9-2.
