Women's Ashes Test preview

England Women are 10-1 to win the one-off Test match against Australia in Canberra after a rain-disrupted start to their Ashes tour.

Only one of the three Twenty20 internationals produced a result, when Tahlia McGrath's blistering innings of 91 powered the Aussies to a comprehensive nine-wicket win in Adelaide.

The four-day Test match is likely to be played at a less frenetic pace and Australia's last Test ended in a draw in October after India had piled up a first-innings total of 377-8 declared. Another stalemate is 10-11 with bet365 and the Aussies are 6-5.

There is a small sample size of women's Test matches for the purposes of form study but Australia batter Rachael Haynes stands out at 14-1 to be named player of the match.

Her nine Test innings include scores of 98 and 87 against England and she has been in excellent white-ball form for New South Wales, making 96 against Victoria before Christmas and 113 against Australian Capital Territory at the Manuka Oval, venue for the Ashes Test, on January 6.
