By his own admission Jason Kenny had struggled to replicate his London 2012 exploits in the last four years.

Going into the World Championships in March, the reigning Olympic sprint champion had claimed only one title since the last Games – the 2013 world keirin crown.

But a return to the boards of the Olympic Velodrome breathed new life into Kenny as he defied odds of 9-1 to sweep all before him in the sprint. Qualification for the men’s Olympic equivalent begins this evening with Kenny the 2-1 favourite to retain his title.
