There were ecstatic celebrations on the pitch after Britain’s semi-final victory over New Zealand in the women’s hockey but this evening’s final pits them against a Dutch team bidding for a hat-trick of Olympic titles.

Holland took gold in Beijing in 2008 and at London 2012, and have appeared in the last six World Cup finals, winning twice.

They reached the final thanks to a penalty shootout win against Germany in the semis and are odds-on for victory in normal time this evening, while Team GB are 7-2 to spring an upset.
