Preview

England lost their Women's World Cup opener against tournament favourites Australia in Hamilton but bookmakers expect a swift response when Heather Knight's side take on West Indies.

Rated 1-6 to beat the Windies, England were beaten by their rivals by 12 runs at Seddon Park last time out, putting them on the back foot.

And although they are still among the biggest hitters in this World Cup, they should be wary of Tuesday's opponents, who started the tournament with a shock three-run win over hosts New Zealand.

And one player in particular who could cause England problems is Windies opening batter Hayley Matthews.

Matthews struck 119 runs off 128 balls against New Zealand, recording the third ODI century of her career and earning the title of Player of the Match thanks also to the damage she did with the ball, taking 2-41 off ten overs.

She is worth a bet to outscore her English counterpart Lauren Winfield-Hill.

Opener Winfield-Hill has had a tough time of it, having lasted only four balls before going for a duck against Australia and she has not scored a half-century in this format for England since November 2016.
