West Indies vs England prediction
England touch down in St Lucia with a 2-0 lead in their five-match T20 series against the West Indies, having nailed a couple of impressive run-chases in Barbados.
Opener Phil Salt followed up his unbeaten century in the first T20 with a duck in Sunday's second game but skipper Jos Buttler's six-laden 83 powered England to a seven-wicket victory.
Salt's T20 career in the Caribbean has been more feast than famine and he is worth backing to top-score for England in the third game of the series in Gros Islet.
He made back-to-back centuries against the Windies during last December's T20 series and thrashed 87 not out off 47 balls in June's T20 World Cup win over the tournament hosts in St Lucia.
Salt is likely to be up against fast bowler Alzarri Joseph, who has served a two-match suspension for storming off the field after a dispute with his captain Shai Hope in the ODI series decider in Bridgetown.
However, the Windies are missing dynamic all-rounder Andre Russell for the final three games in St Lucia and his absence points to a bet on T20 skipper Rovman Powell hitting the most sixes for the hosts.
Powell struck the only two sixes of the innings on Sunday and smashed five maximums in a 17-ball 36 in the T20 World Cup defeat to England.
He has developed into one of the most reliable middle-order six-hitters in world cricket, averaging 1.84 maximums per innings in T20 internationals since the start of 2022.
Nicholas Pooran's 98 against Afghanistan in Gros Islet was the highest individual score of the T20 World Cup and he poses the main threat to Powell in the market.
But Pooran hit only one six from 32 deliveries in the World Cup loss to England and he was stumped by Salt after a scratchy 14 off 23 in Sunday's game.
