The playing schedule has been a running theme throughout the cricketing summer and the topic will rear its head again as West Indies and New Zealand playing six white ball games in 12 days.

The first of those is a T20 at Sabina Park in Jamaica where the hosts face a tough task in overcoming the ultra-consistent Kiwis.

New Zealand have won 12 of their last 16 T20s, with one of those losses coming in last year’s World Cup final, and the Black Caps will be well fancied in this year’s tournament.

No player from the New Zealand squad will be as familiar with the conditions as middle-order batsman Glenn Phillips who has scored four 50s in 11 CPL innings in Jamaica, averaging almost 40.

The 25-year-old has also averaged 37 across his T20 knocks in 2022 so a chance is taken on Phillips to be top New Zealand batsman.
