Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka were stunned on the opening day of the Twenty20 World Cup, losing to minnows Namibia by 55 runs, and are sure to be after a response against United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.

It was only Namibia's second ever win over a Test side but the southern African nation got off to a rocky start in the match, having been reduced to 35-3 and 76-4 before a middle-order fightback.

Sri Lanka bowler Pramod Madushan played a part in that poor start from Namibia, taking 2-37, and the 28-year-old could also do some damage against the UAE.

Madushan has played only three T20 internationals for Sri Lanka but has picked up eight wickets with the other six coming in contests with Pakistan.

He could represent great value at 5-1 to be the top wicket-taker for the Lankans in their next World Cup contest.

Namibia should be brimming with confidence after that opening win over Sri Lanka and, for a second successive World Cup, they look set to qualify for the Super 12 phase.

Next up is a clash with the Netherlands and Namibia look a value bet at 4-7. The Dutch only just edged the UAE with one ball to spare in their tournament opener.
