Ireland took an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe on Thursday and are 8-11 to secure a clean sweep in Belfast.

The hosts' five-run win secured Ireland's first home series win of any kind since 2014 and their first ever home series victory against an ICC full-member nation.

Both games have been competitive but the struggles of Zimbabwe's openers to lay a platform for the rest of their batting line-up have cost them.

Zimbabwe's first-wicket stands have been worth just four and one, while Ireland's opening duo of Paul Stirling and James McCollum have put on 111 and 28 for the first wicket.

The hosts look value at 4-5 to have the higher opening partnership again.

Recommendation
Ireland to have higher opening partnership
2pts 4-5 general
