Oval Invincibles stand on the cusp of claiming a third successive triumph in The Hundred and should they gain that distinction, it looks likely that Jordan Cox will be in the thick of the effort.

Trent Rockets, who celebrated their own success in 2022, stand in the way of a hat-trick bid after the team who matched the Invincibles' six wins from eight league-stage games relied on that record to book their spot in the final after rain lead to the abandonment of Saturday's Eliminator against the Northern Superchargers at The Oval on Saturday.

The Rockets, for whom England's Joe Root has averaged 32.71 this summer, have lost two of their three games against the Invincibles this year and while they have been battling their way into the final, their rivals have had their feet up since Monday.

And a big job for David Willey and his Trent side will be to try to keep the brakes on Jordan Cox dominating proceedings.

The Oval batsman got his campaign off to a slow start but has posted knocks of 44, 86, 56, 58 in his last outings against the Rockets, and 24 and 47 in his last six efforts, so he clearly has his eye in.

No batsman in the competition can rival his tally of 327 runs and he has also cleared the boundary 21 times, so there looks a strong chance he will rise to the occasion.

Cox has the potential to shine in the final and represents decent value at 3-1 to be his team's top runscorer in the Lord's showpiece.
