Grigor Dimitrov returned to form in Beijing last week but he is far from guaranteed to keep his fine run going against Richard Gasquet, who has beaten the Bulgarian in all five of their previous meetings.

Dimitrov found Andy Murray too strong in Sunday’s China Open final and while he will be aiming to go deep again in Shanghai, his record against Gasquet does not inspire confidence.

The 25-year-old has taken just two sets off the consistent Frenchman, who bowed out in the second round in Beijing after losing out to Tomas Berdych in the final of the Shenzhen Open the week before.
