Kerber should silence Danish rival with no problems

Caroline Wozniacki is twice a runner-up at Flushing Meadows but the Dane’s dream of claiming a first Grand Slam title looks set to end in tonight’s semi-final against German Angelique Kerber – who is seeking to dislodge Serena Williams as world number one.
Kerber, who ran out an emphatic 7-5 6-0 winner against last year’s runner-up Roberta Vinci in their quarter-final clash on Tuesday, held up one finger signalling her quest for number one and a win over Wozniacki will put the German in pole position to do so.
