Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore both recorded seven wins and seven defeats in the Indian Premier League regular season but there is no doubt which of the pair comes into their playoff eliminator in better shape.

The Sunrisers needed to beat 2019 winners and 2020 table-toppers Mumbai to book their playoff place and they did it in style thanks to an unbroken 151-run opening partnership between David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha.

Bangalore, in contrast, lost their last four league games and there are doubts over their playoff credentials despite the presence of ace batsmen Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in their ranks.

They crawled to 120-7 in a five-wicket loss to Hyderabad on October 31 and may struggle against a bowling attack pepped up by West Indies captain Jason Holder, who has taken ten wickets in five games for the Sunrisers.

Rashid Khan, who has the best economy rate in the competition this season, is another major threat with the ball while Kane Williamson adds some class to the Hyderabad middle-order and they can end Bangalore's title dream in Abu Dhabi.
