Sunrisers Hyderabad lost 11 of their 14 matches in last year's Indian Premier League and their 2022 campaign did not begin in promising fashion.

Having released Australia's T20 World Cup-winning opener David Warner, the Sunrisers crawled to 14-3 in the first six overs of their pursuit of 211 against Rajasthan Royals: the joint-lowest Powerplay score in the 14-year history of the IPL.

Unsurprisingly, they lost that match, hitting only six sixes to the Royals' 14, and they could come up short in terms of batting firepower when they take on Lucknow Super Giants at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai.

One of two new franchises in the IPL this season, Lucknow got their first win on the board when chasing down 211 to beat holders Chennai thanks largely to an unbeaten 55 off 23 balls from Evin Lewis.

Lewis hit three sixes, as did opener KL Rahul, and middle-order men Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni have also started the season well with the bat, clearing the ropes eight times between them in Lucknow's first two matches.
