Preview

Pakistan dug deep to beat South Africa in a rain-affected Group 2 contest on Thursday but their semi-final qualification chances depend on the Proteas or India slipping up on Sunday.

Victory for South Africa against the Netherlands, 10-1 underdogs in Adelaide, would seal their place in the last four and India need a win or a no result against 9-1 shots Zimbabwe.

Pakistan must also beat Bangladesh to keep the pressure on their rivals and the Tigers gave India a huge fright on Wednesday before falling five runs short of victory on the DLS method.

The Netherlands got a win on the board against Zimbabwe last time out but they managed scores of 91-9 and 123-9 in heavy defeats to Pakistan and India and it could be a similar story against South Africa's bowling attack.

Anrich Nortje claimed 4-10 against Bangladesh and 4-41 against Pakistan and the Proteas paceman should prove too sharp for the Dutch batting unit.

Another fast bowler who should bolster his tournament wickets tally against low-ranked opponents is India's Arshdeep Singh.

The left-armer took two important scalps in this week's win against Bangladesh and he has claimed at least two wickets in each of his last six T20 internationals.

Three of those games were against South Africa and Arshdeep dismissed both Pakistan openers in his first two overs of the tournament so he knows he can cause problems for top-class batsmen.

Zimbabwe's bowlers have impressed during the Super 12 stage but their batting has been disappointing and they were rolled for just 117 in Wednesday's loss to the Netherlands.
