First T20 preview

South Africa have barely had time to catch their breath after a thrilling Twenty20 series against England and now they take on a powerful Australia side who are clear favourites to win the 20-over World Cup on home turf this autumn.

Batsmen dominated the Proteas' series with England, which featured totals of 177, 176, 202, 204, 222 and 226, and more of the same is expected at the Wanderers, where there have been 14 totals of 190 or more in 28 T20 matches.

Australia's fast-bowling stars Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins can cause problems even in such batsman-friendly conditions but the best bet may be for South Africa paceman Lungi Ngidi to be his side's top wicket-taker.

Ngidi had a fine series against England, taking eight wickets in three games and clinching an unlikely one-run win in the opening game. He also picked up three wickets in the final ODI at the Wanderers.
